Job Summary:



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Duty Manager to join our team at Helderberg Personnel cc. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our luxury hotel.



Main Responsibilities:





  • Manage and oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring that all departments are working efficiently and effectively.

  • Maintain high operating and service standards, consistently delivering exceptional guest experiences.

  • Handle and resolve guest queries and complaints efficiently, providing timely and effective solutions.

  • Manage guest comments, responding promptly and professionally to all feedback.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership and motivational skills, inspiring and guiding your team to achieve outstanding results.

  • Trustworthy in handling hotel and guest financial transactions, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies.

  • Stay informed about property offerings, ensuring that all team members are aware of the latest services and amenities.

  • Assist with guest account management, providing personalized support and ensuring seamless check-in and check-out procedures.

  • Operate the OPERA Property Management System, managing room categories, reservations, and other hotel systems.

  • Handle guest check-in/check-out procedures, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.

  • Operate the switchboard, directing calls and ensuring that all guest queries are addressed promptly.

  • Manage restaurant bookings and hotel reservations, coordinating with the F&B team to ensure seamless service.

  • Assist with daily F&B operations during meal periods, ensuring that all guests receive exceptional service.

  • Liaise effectively between departments, ensuring that all teams are working together to deliver outstanding results.



Required Skills and Qualifications:





  • Post-matric hotel school accreditation

  • At least 3 years of experience in a 5-star hotel or similar environment

  • Computer literacy with Opera Cloud knowledge

  • Previous leadership role advantageous

  • Excellent communication skills with high English proficiency

  • Ability to plan and implement strategic initiatives

  • Skilled in team training and development

  • Motivated, enthusiastic, energetic, and charming personality

  • Team player with a positive attitude

  • Able to work shifts and under pressure
