Technical Support Specialist

This is a key position within our IT department at Nexio, supporting the technical needs of our customers. As a Technical Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing first-line support and installation services for our VodaWorld IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Fault finding and configuring switches, wireless access, and general connectivity across multiple technologies and device manufacturers
  • Resolving customer site issues on Cisco Switches and other Customer Equipment with assistance from Vodacom CSOC
  • Maintaining accurate records as required by Nexio and updating the Helpdesk System for VodacomWorld Support

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, verbal, and written skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will have a basic understanding of telephone techniques, problem-solving, analytical thinking, and people skills. Additionally, you should be willing to learn, demonstrate a positive attitude, and deliver results while meeting customer expectations.

This role requires shift work, typically 5 days on, 5 days off, with working hours varying between Monday to Friday (07:00-16:00) or (09:00-18:00) and Saturday and Sunday (09:00-17:00 or 09:00-14:00). The estimated salary for this position is around $60,000-$80,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
