Our Serviced Apartments at Camps Bay Village seeks a Host to run the online reservations systems (sales) and Host guests at the property (operations).

Hosts (Online and On-site) are responsible for all direct and online bookings coming through the various platforms and channels (not limited to: website, email, telephone, Airbnb, booking.com etc), they are responsible for the day to day assisted check-in for all guests at Camps Bay Village, have effective communication both internally and externally and must have superior product knowledge of the overall product and operations thereof. They should also have a good understanding of the broader Village & Life portfolio.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric
  • Diploma in Hotel Management or similar (advantageous)
  • OPERA experience
  • Online platform booking experience (Booking.com, AirBNB and similar)
  • 2 years experience in a similar role in a 4/5 star environment
  • Hospitality sales experience (advantageous)
  • Experience in Front Office / Reception roles

Main purpose of the job

  • Accurately record and process reservations made in the Property management system (OPERA) including amendments, extensions, no show, special billing arrangements, special requests, quotes, confirmations and reservations
  • Liaise with guests regarding their transport and arrival times
  • Liaise with Reservations/ Finance & Sales Manager regarding all reservations
  • Immediate communication, to front office, of amendments to on the day arrivals.
  • Communication of any special / VIP bookings to Reservations Manager and Front Office.
  • Guest complaints and follow up – communicated to the Peer-to-Peer Business Manager
  • Day to day operations of a standard “front desk” which includes but are not limited to:
  • Running end of day
  • Cashier reports
  • Pre-arrivals on all reservations and follow ups.
  • Greeting guests and offering assistance with the self-check-in
  • Handling and issuing of guest keys
  • Ensuring all guests registration cards are signed and filed
  • Promote and sell the property via all channels possible for optimal revenue generation.
  • Confirmation and pro forma invoices processed and issued on time according to procedures and payment schedules or according to the requirements of the channel
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and excellent communication skills both online and on-site
  • Adopting a “can do” attitude with regards to customer enquiries both online and on-site
  • Assist in investigating and resolving customer complaints both online and on-site
  • Knowledge of operational functions
  • Policies and Procedures
  • Superior product knowledge is vital
  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize work, analysis of industry trends and developments, have a combined skillset of pro-active working routines on a day to day and re-active problem-solving skills.
