Key Responsibilities:

Purchase Ledger Management

  • Process invoices into the system, ensuring timely approval by budget holders.
  • Oversee the flow of invoices, liaising with approvers to ensure efficiency.
  • Prepare weekly/fortnightly payment runs for review and set up payments for bank authorizations.
  • Address and resolve supplier and budget holder queries and complaints.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for purchase ledgers.
  • Ensure recoverable VAT is accurately identified and coded.

Vendor Management

  • Set up new vendor accounts while adhering to company policies, including verifying bank details directly with suppliers and ensuring VAT compliance.
  • Maintain proper controls and ensure all processes meet compliance standards.

Support Functions

  • Provide general assistance to the Cape Town Finance Manager.

  • Proven experience in purchase ledger management.
  • Exposure to multi-currency transactions.
  • A strong understanding of VAT principles.
  • Proficient in Excel and other financial systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive and detail-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn.
