As a seasoned professional in the telecommunication industry, we are seeking a highly skilled Customer Retention Strategist to lead our newly formed retention and preservation department. This is a unique opportunity to drive customer success and build a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities include establishing and managing the retention and preservation department, developing and executing effective strategies to optimize customer retention, and managing collections processes from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retention and collections management, with at least 8 years of proven experience in a retention and collections environment, preferably within the financial services or insurance industry.

A minimum of 2 years in a leadership or managerial role is required, as well as a Matric qualification and relevant tertiary education (e.g., Business Administration, Finance). The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 per annum.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing departmental goals, strategies, and operational plans aligned with business objectives;
  • Designing and implementing effective collection strategies to improve retention rates;
  • Managing collections processes, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of outstanding balances;
  • Utilizing customer data and analytics to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improving retention;
  • Collaborating closely with other departments (such as Customer Service, Sales, Product and Finance) to align retention strategies with overall business goals.

Please note that this is a 12-month contract.
