**ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER: FACULTY**

**(GRADE 12)**

The Faculty of Arts at the University of the Western Cape seeks to produces graduates of the highest caliber. The Faculty Office plays a key role in supporting

the academic programme and providing administrative excellence. We are currently seeking a self-motivated, committed, competent, suitably qualified and experienced individual for this key appointment.

**_Reporting to the Faculty Manager, the appointee will be responsible for:_**
- Academic Administration
- Marks Administration
- Event Management
- Enquiry Management
- Committee Administration
- General Administration
- Human Resources
- Financial Administration
- Meeting Administration
- Marketing & Recruitment
- Reports

The above are the standard duties of the position. **_Please note:_** A detailed job description of the position will be provided upon request thereof.

**Duties will include, but are not limited to the administration and execution of the following duties**:

- Registration and related administrative processes
- Helpdesk, student queries and related processes
- Committee governance (agendas, minutes and reports)
- Academic planning (timetables and yearbooks)
- The ability to work under pressure
- Proven abilities in planning and organisational skills as well as administrative tasks
- Excellent communicative and interpersonal skills, especially in dealing with academic staff and students
- Excellent writing skills
- Familiarity with student administration and general university rules
- Performing any other administrative duties as may be assigned

**Minimum Requirements**
- Grade 12
- Minimum of 3 years’ administrative experience

**_Preferred requirements:_**
- An accredited post-matric qualification
- Administrative experience in a Higher Education environment is preferred
- Proficiency in computer programmes/software packages e.g. Word; Excel / MS Office Suites / PowerPoint.
