Senior Key Accounts Manager
In South Africa, we are expanding the Continence Care team, where we will provide even better access to health care for patients with intimate healthcare needs. To do this, we are hiring a Senior Key Account Manager (“SKAM") for our South African entity.
The SKAM is responsible for the interface with the key stakeholders (commercial, academic, patient advocacy groups) in the South African Inland regions (Gauteng, Pretoria, Free State primarily) as a support function to Market Access and Continence Market Development business unit. This includes funder engagement, hospital group communication, Key Opinion Leader (“KOL”) communication - to improve standards of care in the management of bowel and bladder challenges.
You will be part of the South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa Team and report to the Head of Market Access and Market Development - CC.
**Your key responsibilities will be**:
SA Key Account Management
Channel management aligned with market and patient pathways, including in-hospital as well as in-community.
Promote and differentiate our company through the total value proposition offered.
Work with the Head of Market Access and Market Development to execute the business plan. Be an active player in driving the effectiveness of the account management and ensuring follow up on actions.
Maintain a good awareness of competitor activity within the industry and accounts, anticipating issues and opportunities, responding in a timely manner as required.
Ensure accurate administration and record keeping, for example, maintenance of customer databases and records, progress notes and customer follow up.
Ensure an in-depth working knowledge of the SA market, understanding their priorities and perspectives.
**Market Development**: Continence Care
Promote the correct bowel and bladder management solutions to HCPs, public and private institutions in senior-level conversations.
Increase adoption of single-use HCIC as gold standard in bladder management.
Be a part of new market development regarding segmentations as well as new innovations.
Reimbursement and evidence
Work alongside Market Access negotiating with payors to achieve improved reimbursement levels for continence care in South Africa.
Use health economic arguments (HTA, CEA) to develop reimbursement proposals to funders.
Engage with Advisory boards, KOL’s, and academia to promote the use of evidence-based medicine and guidelines to drive appropriate standards of care.
Maintain / develop applicable agreements to facilitate access and reimbursement.
Patient Advocacy Interface
Develop and support Patient Advocacy Groups (PAGs) to increase awareness and facilitate increased education and share of voice.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for a highly experienced, commercial as well as clinically sound (continence field) account manager with a proven and verifiable track record of developing and implementing strategies with high impact.
Hybrid-role (JHB based) with >50% time in-field.
- 10 Years of Account Management experience
Existing and verifiable relationships inside hospital groups, courier houses, rehabilitation centres, Urologists, and medical schemes.
History of consistently high performance and a proven track record of coordination ability, time management, budgeting, and attention to detail
Strong business acumen and commercial understanding (including stakeholder perspectives and health economics)
Previous product launch experience from inception - reimbursement - market
Solid clinical understanding of bladder and bowel health.
Strong communication and presentation skills
