**Job Purpose**:
The Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Western Cape Government has an opportunity for a suitably qualified and competent individual to provide a provincial records management service and ensure sound records management in the Western Cape. This post is based in Cape Town, CBD.

**Minimum Requirements**:
An appropriate 3-year National Diploma/B-Degree (equivalent or higher qualification); A minimum of 3 years management level experience in the field of records management and information systems with specific specialization in appraisal, record classification systems, information systems and inspections; A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

**Recommendation**:
**Key Performance Areas**:
Assess, inspect and approve records classification systems; Enforce the implementation of systematic disposal programmes of public records in the province; Facilitate the implementation of integrated e-records management systems; Provide capacity building services to records management staff of the Western Cape; Manage the administrative support services of the directorate and administration of Records Management of Sub Directorate; People management; Financial management.

**Competencies**:
Knowledge of the following: Provincial Archives and Records Service of the Western Cape Act 3 of 2005 and other legislation which impacts on archives, records management, and information systems; Appraisal of records; Approval of records classification systems; Record Management inspection principles and guidelines; Electronic Records management and preservation principles; Records management standards, national and internal standards and best practices; Records management training strategies and methods; Monitoring and evaluation; Financial management and budgets; Occupational Health and Safety aspects; Project management; Information Technology; Skills needed: Report writing; Written and verbal communication; Interpersonal relations; Ability to meet strict deadlines, work well within a team and independently.

**Remuneration**:
All-inclusive salary package of R 811 560 per annum (Salary level 11)

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
