Purpose of Role:

The IT Asset Officer will be responsible for fulfilling the delivery of IT asset support services for SPARK Schools.

They will be responsible for managing a large asset inventory, including the movement of assets between their various sites, periodic asset verification, lawfully disposing of written-off devices, accurate asset reporting, as well as ensuring mínimal unused or unusable assets on hand so that SPARK School's IT asset investments are maximised.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily and longterm operational and strategic management of assets.
  • Plan, monitor, and record hardware assets and/or software licenses to make sure they complied with vendor contracts in different software tools.
  • Ensure effective management of assets and making sure asset information is accurate.
  • Conduct periodic asset verification exercises and reporting back on audits.
  • Provide KPI/Metric information and reporting on a scheduled basis together with unscheduled reporting as requested by management.
  • Take part in various projects, providing support to Information Technology, Procurement and Finance.
  • Define and enhance schemes for identifying asset gaps.
  • Manage inventory and make sure that modifications, withdrawals, and additions of existing assets are correctly recorded to ensure that the vendor contracts are complied with.
  • Responsible for managing the lifecycle of hardware and software from their introduction to their retirement.
  • Generate and distribute various reports, including compliance reports on current assets. Perform verification of software assets with license contracts, confirm hardware assets with actual inventory, initiate corrective actions and track them to resolution.
  • Manage activities concerning license compliance audits to be able to answer to requests from software auditors effectively.
  • Establish and maintain documentation of procedures, processes, and reports concerning IT assets.
  • Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
  • Be comfortable working within KPI's and have a good understanding of SLA's.
  • Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
  • Prioritising and managing many open cases at one time, and responding to service desk requests regarding assets.
  • Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers, vendors and other professionals.
  • Coordinating deployment of assets, student and staff devices.
  • Collaborate with teams to determine trends in asset performance and requirements.
  • Establish and maintain hardware and software maintenance databases.
  • Have complete independence and demonstrate a high level of business ethics.
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance of Chromebooks and laptops.
  • Collecting, coordinating, distributing and storing company devices at term end for safe storage;
  • Ensure supplier invoices are loaded and paid on time.
  • Install and configure firewalls, access points, switches, routers and set up IT infrastructure for expansions;
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems, power backups, internet, networks and telephony management (TMS).

Qualifications and Criteria:

Degree or Diploma in Information Technology.

  • Any further IT qualifications will be advantageous.
  • Proven qualification / module in understanding corporate assets.
  • Financial Diploma or equivalent will be advantageous.
  • Highly skilled in using databases / large spreadsheets

At least 2 years experience in an IT role, with any additional experience in an Asset Management or Finance role advantageous.

Driver's licence and your own reliable transport is essential.
