About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Support Engineer to join our team at Amazon Development Centre (South Africa) (Proprietary) Limited. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our customers, helping them to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to our cloud services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced technical support to customers via phone, email, and web/live chat channels.
  • Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Partner with Amazon Web Services teams to reproduce and resolve customer issues.
  • Develop and present training to internal teams on cloud services and technical topics.
  • Work on critical, highly complex customer problems that may span multiple AWS services.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of network and operating system support experience or 1+ years of technical support experience.
  • 6 months to 3 years of relevant experience in troubleshooting networking issues using various tools.
  • Good knowledge of network security, including SSL/TLS, network- and web application firewalls, and intrusion detection and prevention services.
  • Good knowledge of managing domain transfers, records, and DNS security.
  • Good OS knowledge oriented to maintenance and administrative purposes.
  • Knowledge of networking and troubleshooting, including HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and switching, load balancing.
  • Knowledge in monitoring IT services and good command of associated technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
