Cloud Support Specialist

At Amazon Development Centre (South Africa) (Proprietary) Limited, we're looking for a skilled Cloud Support Engineer to join our team. As a Cloud Support Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of cloud computing, assisting a global list of companies and developers who are taking advantage of our growing range of services and features.
What You'll Do- Act as the 'Cloud Ambassador' across all cloud products, arming our customers with the tools and tactics they need to get the most out of their cloud investment.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs.
- Interact with leading engineers around the world to resolve complex customer issues.
- Partner with Amazon Web Services teams to help reproduce and resolve customer issues.
- Drive customer communication during critical events.
- Drive projects that improve support-related processes and our customers' technical support experience.
- Write tutorials, how-to videos, and other technical articles for the developer community.
As a Cloud Support Engineer, you'll be part of a customer-facing technology team that helps ensure the success of Amazon Web Services as a leading technology organization. You'll have the opportunity to learn and use groundbreaking technologies, work on critical, highly complex customer problems, and drive customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For- Good depth of understanding in Hadoop Administration, support, and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of Linux and Networking concepts.
- Intermediate programming/scripting skills in Java or Python.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with multi-tasking ability.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
- Proficient in Hadoop Map-Reduce and its ecosystem.
- Python and shell scripting skills.
- Good understanding of distributed computing environments.
- Customer service experience or strong customer focus.
