Job Description

Africa Cosmos Consulting & Training is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join our team in Houghton. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing all transactions accurately and timeously, managing payments, refunds, and reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with financial protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transaction Processing: Verify the accuracy of all transactions, including petty cash, general ledger, capital expenses, and supplier invoices.
  • Payment Management: Process payments, refunds, and reconciliations efficiently and accurately.
  • Accruals and Reconciliations: Raise and reverse accruals for all orders in the procurement system as necessary, and reconcile balance sheets in area of responsibility.
  • Supplier Management: Ensure that all suppliers are loaded on the appropriate banking and financial systems.
  • Foreign Currency Management: Prepare foreign payments, maintain a register for foreign currency, and adhere to all foreign currency protocols.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience within Finance, preferably in a similar role.
  • Qualifications: Grade 12 with Accounting or Mathematics, and a 3-year tertiary qualification in Finance.
  • Skills: Computer literacy, strong Excel skills, and excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
