Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for prospecting new business opportunities, qualifying potential clients, and developing and updating knowledge of our service offerings. Key responsibilities include:
- Prospecting for new business by identifying opportunities, conducting area reviews, and making telephonic contact and cold calls
- Qualifying potential clients based on requirements, volumes, distribution areas, current providers, and cargo types
- Gathering market intelligence and information on freight service opportunities, competitor activities, and reports
- Determining customer needs and demonstrating our services to suit their requirements, adding value to their business
- Negotiating prices and credit terms
- Working on continuously improving marketing strategies
- Achieving agreed sales targets
- Planning, organizing, following up, and communicating progress to clients effectively
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must have:
- Grade 12 minimum (Matric)
- 3-4 years' sales experience
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software applications
- Understanding of Freightware or similar management systems
- Selling process and techniques
- Brief understanding of freight processes
- New business development skills, including prospecting and cold calling
- Account management skills
Salary Range
The estimated salary range for this position is R600,000 - R900,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
