**Job Advert Summary**:
**PURPOSE**:

- To partner with business units to translate strategic programs into actionable initiatives.
- Create and maintain a strategy dashboard to track progress against the company's strategic goals, including setting and monitoring of KPIs and Key Results.
- Model and implement the strategy implementation roadmap.
- Identify actionable trends and insights for effective strategy execution.
- Develop a company-wide strategy action tracker.
- Create leading and lagging indicator scorecards for all functions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to unblock and fast-track strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with business units and Project Management Office (PMO) for the implementation and monitoring of strategy projects.

**MAJOR CHALLENGES**:

- Balancing resource allocation and prioritisation of initiatives.
- Ensuring timely and effective communication across different business units.
- Monitoring and adapting the strategy in response to changing business environments.
- Maintain alignment of cross-functional efforts with overall strategic objectives.
- Reliability and availability of data to provide strategy insights or monitor strategic progress, demonstrating effectiveness and value delivery towards Exxaro's strategy objectives.
- Developing strategy tracking tools.
- Interdepartmental coordination of strategy initiatives progress.

**Minimum Requirements**:
**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- B Eng (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum or)
- B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
- Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (Recommended/Desirable)

**EXPERIENCE**:
8-10 years Experience in strategic planning and execution. Proven ability to develop and maintain strategic monitoring tools and dashboards. Strong analytical skills, numerical fluency and data literacy to identify trends and insights in strategy execution. Strong technical foundation and understanding of core business processes in mining and energy. Experience in leading cross-functional teams. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Proven track record in managing and implementing large scale strategic projects. Experience in developing and tracking performance indicators. (Essential/Minimum) Management

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Collaboration and Engagement**
- Gather and translate requirements in collaboration with various individuals and teams, facilitate communication, and ensure the delivery of solutions that meet the overall business objectives.
- Demonstrate and encourage collaboration including cross-functionally and support a culture of collaboration.
- Ensure clear communication of individual, divisional and business targets and objectives and drive performance towards their fulfilment.
- Provide direction, guidance and support to people having to adapt to change. Actively support functional/organisational change and reinforce/role model the change.
- Encourage open expression of ideas/opinions and foster dialogue.

**Financial Management**
- Recommend and incorporate cost saving initiatives and budgets and controls expenditure within approved parameters.
- Monitor and report on expenditure of department against the budget.
- Partner with Line to reduce total workforce cost in real terms including overtime and contractors.
- Compile annual budget and continuously manage process against budget.

**Governance & Processes**
- Ensure all innovation initiatives adhere to industry regulations, ethical standards, and corporate social responsibility principles.
- Develop efficient processes for strategy monitoring and enablement.
- Establish governance frameworks to monitor and guide strategy initiatives effectively.

**Safe and Healthy Work Environment**
- Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations, and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards.
- Ensure legislative compliance as a minimum standard.
- Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations.
- Ensure compliance towards internal targets & the drive towards Zero
- Harm.

**Strategy enablement**
- Provide specialist guidance and advice to senior managers at business unit level to enable the implementation of strategic projects and change initiatives.
- Build financial and other strategic models to support robust decision
- making processes.
- Support teams in the development of and testing of business plans, assessing value creation opportunities, building models.
- Keep abreast of Strategy Execution trends and solutions and determine maturity and applicability for implementation.
- Partner with the business to translate organisational strategy into actionable initiatives.
