**Job Advert Summary**:
**PURPOSE**:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy framework to standardise processes across the business.
- Actively contribute to development of business’ strategic objectives and review of its portfolio.
- Integrate inputs from all functions to align with the overarching strategy and assess their implications.
- Conduct both top
- down and bottom-up strategy integration across all organisational functions.
- Define and oversee the planning of strategic programs.
- Perform stress tests on the strategy against a range of scenarios and risks for robustness.
- Define the portfolio optimisation methodology of the company, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

**MAJOR CHALLENGES**:

- Synthesise diverse functional inputs into a cohesive strategy.
- Balancing strategic rigidity with flexibility to adapt to changing scenarios and risks.
- Ensuring effective collaboration across all levels and departments for strategy integration.
- Continuously optimising the strategy portfolio in a dynamic business environment.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) (Essential/Minimum)
- Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum)

**Minimum Requirements**:
**EXPERIENCE**:
8-10 years Proven experience in strategy formulation. Demonstrated ability in integrating cross-functional inputs into a unified strategy. Experience in strategic stress testing and portfolio optimisation. Strong track record in planning and implementing strategic programs and partnerships. Strong technical foundation and understanding of core business processes in mining and energy. (Essential/Minimum) Management

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum)
- Project Management Professional (Recommended/Desirable)

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Collaboration and Engagement**
- Gather and translate requirements in collaboration with various individuals and teams, facilitate communication, and ensure the delivery of solutions that meet the overall business objectives.
- Demonstrate and encourage collaboration including cross-functionally and support a culture of collaboration.
- Ensure clear communication of individual, divisional and business targets and objectives and drive performance towards their fulfilment.
- Provide direction, guidance and support to people having to adapt to change.
- Actively support functional/organisational change and reinforce/role model the change.
- Encourage open expression of ideas/opinions and foster dialogue.

**Financial Management**
- Recommend and incorporate cost saving initiatives and budgets and controls expenditure within approved parameters.
- Monitor and report on expenditure of department against the budget.
- Partner with Line to reduce total workforce cost in real terms including overtime and contractors.
- Compile annual budget and continuously manage process against budget.

**Integration and Implication Analysis**
- Seamlessly integrate inputs from all functions into the strategy.
- Analyse and communicate the implications of these integrations.

**Portfolio Optimisation**
- Set and refine the portfolio optimisation methodology / framework, considering emerging strategic factors / criteria.
- Contribute towards continuously optimising the portfolio, aligning it with the dynamic goals of the organisation.
- Manage the overall Exxaro portfolio from an economic, impact and climate point of view, and work with business units to align their respective portfolios accordingly Support with identifying opportunities for growth and development.

**Safe and Healthy Work Environment**
- Maintain and ensure a healthy environment, safe operations, and practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards.
- Ensure legislative compliance as a minimum standard.

**Strategy Framework & Process Standardisation**
- Keep abreast of strategy development trends and solutions and determine maturity and applicability for implementation.
- Develop and implement a robust strategy framework
- Standardize strategy processes across all functions for uniformity, coherence and efficiency.

**Strategy Program**
- Conduct thorough top-down and bottom-up strategy integration, ensuring that all organisational functions are aligned and contributing effectively.
- Define and meticulously plan strategic programs, ensuring alignment with overall organizational objectives.
- Facilitate senior level strategic workshops and consolidating and delivering the outcomes.

**Strategy Stress Testing**
- Regularly conduct stress tests on the organizational strategy against various scenarios and risks to ensure its resilience and adaptability.
