Events & Communications Intern

Role Purpose
Join us as a Communication Intern where you will support the communication team with events, employee marketing and communications activities and administrative tasks.

Requirements
- Design experience: Working knowledge and experience in content creation and visual design tools including Adobe creative suite programs an advantage (Design, photography & videography experience, or knowledge an advantage)
- Experience as an events coordinator.
- Experience with Virtual conference/event tools including Teams and Zoom.
Duties & Responsibilities
Internal Communications and engagement:
Contribute to creating internal communication content and coordinating activities for Momentum Investments employees by:
- Support with the delivery of employee wellness initiatives, projects, creative communication concepts and organisational culture projects to drive engagement.
- Support the delivery of internal communication plans and ensure timeous delivery of all assigned projects
- Assist with print and online copy writing such as developing and designing content for internal communication i.e., Employee Newsletter, HR Communication
- Provide input into stakeholder requirements such as company announcements, meeting presentations, multimedia, key messages, talking points for distribution
- Conduct research to deliver key messaging to effectively drive positive engagement to the project
- Propose and conceptualise creative ideas to ensure company messaging is forward-looking and innovative
- Assist by sourcing, collating, and developing original news stories/blog posts, background information, images, quotes, multimedia graphics, event reporting and other content, booking interviews, running competitions, prize allocation and suggesting engagement opportunities
- Design of internal marketing materials - agendas, name tags
- Support on video and photography shoots
- Writing support across internal, community and external communications activities
- Support to the marketing and events specialist with branding approval, events planning and execution, and writing of invitations and programmes
- Provide support as required on employee activations and campaigns, including at site level
- Ensure quality assurance and approval of all communication material prior to delivery
- Contribute to the maintenance of all internal communications templates and information
- Adhere to the timelines outlined for all standard monthly initiatives i.e Health Days, Religious & Observance Days
- Help manage our events calendar from ideation to execution to post event reporting
- Identify/recommend events/ activities that will improve staff engagement and wellness
- Assist with idea generation, the identification and implementation of tactics to maintain or increase engagement with stakeholders through various communication platforms and initiatives.
- Admin:
- Assist the Human Capital Manco team in day-to-day and general administrative support tasks.
- Participating and driving team and stakeholder meetings and providing detailed feedback on tasks.
- Management of communication mailboxes.
- Maintaining distribution lists.
- Events:
- Assist with the research, plan and execute events as well as assist with the Internal Communications Portfolio.
- Participate in ideating, conceptualising planning, coordinating and implementing internal events and activities (such as assigned conferences, wellness events, business summits and webinars)
- Ensure the performance of each event is subsequently measured against defined metrics and work with the team to provide insights/recommendations based on results (post-event surveys, post-event reports etc)
- Communicating with suppliers and service providers during event preparation
- Preparation and ordering of branded material
- Compiling event budgets, evaluations & reports
- Assisting with logistics and communications for events
- Participate and attend company events to compile content for internal distribution (for example taking photos or doing interviews etc.)
Collaborate:
- Collaborate and foster internal relationships with stakeholders and colleague and participate in various HC projects when required to execute HR deliverables.
- Maintain consistent communication with key stakeholders and work closely with the project team
