Our client is looking for an experienced and strategic Regional Development Manager Inland to lead business development efforts, drive sales growth, and strengthen client relationships across key industrial sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for expanding the company's market presence in the water, waste, and energy industries within the inland region.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Lead the annual sales budgeting process and exceed defined targets within the inland region.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Optimize bookings and sales for the inland region through strategic market engagement.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to promote brand awareness.
  • Provide regular market intelligence, feedback, and reports to senior management.
  • Oversee and coordinate the tendering process for large-scale contracts in municipal and industrial sectors.
  • Support and direct teams in business development, marketing, and communications.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes and external regulatory requirements.
  • Lead negotiations and ensure commercially beneficial agreements with key stakeholders.
  • Guide and support teams in compiling and submitting proposals for public-private partnerships (PPPs).

  • Strong business development and sales acumen within industrial sectors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound financial and business acumen, including experience with P&Ls and project profitability assessments.
  • Strategic planning and leadership abilities to drive regional growth.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including government and corporate clients.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace tools and cloud-based systems.
  • 10 to 15 years of business development or sales experience in industrial chemicals, energy services, or projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of B2B sales in utilities, specifically in water, waste, or energy sectors.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining high-level client relationships in Southern Africa.
  • Self-motivated, dynamic professional with a passion for business development and marketing.
Qualifications
  • Preferably a B.Eng., MBA, or BCom in Sales & Marketing or an equivalent qualification.
