Mondia Group is expanding its regional finance capabilities and is looking for a highly skilled Regional Financial Controller to lead its financial operations in Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to drive business growth and profitability.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management, using data-driven insights to inform key decisions.
  • Collaborate with regional business units to align financial goals with operational strategies and drive business outcomes.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, ensuring robust risk management practices are in place and aligned with corporate policies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and manage tax compliance in each jurisdiction.
  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and swift issue resolution.
Financial Reporting & Analysis

The Regional Financial Controller will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to support informed decision-making, analyzing financial results, and providing insights to senior management on performance against budgets and forecasts.

This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements, with the ability to interpret and apply complex financial data to drive business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

The Regional Financial Controller will monitor and manage regional cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations, optimize working capital, and support treasury functions, including foreign exchange management and banking relationships.

This role also involves reviewing, paying, and recording monthly payroll, including permanent, casual staff, and students, along with related social security, tax, and insurance payments, and liaising with a third-party payroll provider to ensure accurate and timely payments.

Team Leadership & Development

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a focus on mentoring and developing the regional finance team, fostering a collaborative environment, and promoting continuous learning and professional development.

A minimum of 10 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, and certifications like CA (SA), CIMA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent are preferred qualifications for this role.
