ENERGY NRG 53/23 Senior Professional Officer

Requirements:

  • A degree in engineering or related field
  • Project management qualification would be an advantage
  • 5 years' experience in project management
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of municipal operations
and options for energy efficiency, renewable energy and

sustainable resource management projects and interventions

  • Experience working with both the private sector and local
government is an advantage

Key Performance Areas

  • Developing strategic programmes and projects to promote Energy
Efficiency in City operations and City-wide

  • Provide strong project management and oversight of EE/RE
projects in Council operations

  • Undertake appropriate monitoring and evaluation, as well as
research and ensure work undertaken is documented

  • Effectively assess EE programmes and projects, analyse and
document progress and provide information for effective strategy

development

  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders and role players
  • Promote programmes and project development and generate
support for these mainstream RE/EE in council operations

  • Manage and raise funds as needed and appropriate
  • Support the implementation of the Internal Resource Efficiency
Protocol across all City departments, and to monitor and report

on financial savings to Corporate Finance as required

  • Assist in the administrative processes for the preparation of council
EE/RE projects

  • Ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency
