Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
  • 1 2 years relevant experience.
  • Code B or EB driver's license.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Technical knowledge of electronic security intrusion alarms,
access control systems, electric fencing and CCTV.

Special conditions may include

  • Required to work in all weather conditions
  • Required to work outside normal working hours during
emergencies and planned overtime.

  • May be required to be on standby.
Key Performance Areas

  • Executing the construction and installation work of Intrusion,
Access, Electric Fences, Fire and CCTV systems according to

task goals.

  • Ensure installations of security systems comply with the
electrical regulations and acceptable security installation

standards.

  • Coordinates activities/ sequences associated with trouble
shooting/fault finding and repairing of Intrusion (Alarms),

Access, Electric Fences, Fire and CCTV faults.

  • Testing circuits and the functionality of new components using
testing and fault detection equipment and communicating

readiness to activate operations.

  • Ensure scheduled planned and predictive maintenance cycles
are executed and work procedures are complied with enabling

the uninterrupted and optimum functionality of security systems.

  • Isolating, removing and replacing defective components with
due consideration given to safety procedures in live

environments.

  • Testing circuits and the functionality of new components using
testing and fault detection equipment.

  • Keep records and software backups.
