UWM 07/23 Senior Professional Officer

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Natural Sciences, e.g.
Chemistry, Chemical, Civil or Environmental Engineering or

Environmental Sciences

  • 5 years' relevant experience with preferably 3 years' experience at
senior or management level

  • A valid Code B or EB driver's licence
Key Performance Areas

  • Dealing with a variety of professional issues, research,
investigation, evaluation

  • Making recommendations and facilitating the
development and implementation of long and short term

objectives of the Department/Branch and facilitate

effective functioning

  • Designing and formulating systems and procedures in order to
standardize a process map services delivery function

  • Continuously surveying legislation and permit conditions under
the jurisdiction of the Department of Water and Sanitation and

Department of Environmental Affairs

  • Coordinate new development requirements with regard to
disposal needs

  • Developing organizational project management matrix with clear
roles and responsibilities

  • Project management of environmental monitoring tenders within
Disposal branch

  • Developing internal benchmarking standards by conducting
internal environmental audits

  • Establishing networks which forge closer links with solid waste
disposal branch
