WATER AND SANITATION WS 31/23 Senior Professional Officer

Requirements:

  • Professional degree in Town Planning/City and Regional Planning
or equivalent (four-year undergraduate or postgraduate Masters)

  • Five (5) years' relevant experience in the field of town planning,
which should include experience in the compilation of forward

planning frameworks and/or planning policy

  • Registration with the South African Council for Planners
(SACPLAN) or proven evidence of eligibility for

Professional Planner registration and to attain professional

registration within a period of 12 months from appointment

  • A valid driver's licence
Key Performance Areas

  • To obtain legislative development rights that includes planning,
facilitating, monitoring and administration of the effective and

efficient implementation of the spatial planning strategies aligned

to the MSDF and Informal Settlements Strategy and plans in the

TPMU

  • Implementing, monitoring and reporting on policies, procedures,
systems and processes in the unit

  • Provides spatial planning expertise and support
  • Contributing towards the preparation of district plans ' Preparing of
spatial plans / development framework/ strategies/ guidelines

for local action areas and strategies sites in informal settlements

  • Contributing towards the Metropolitan Spatial Development
Framework and ensuring the alignment of district and local

planning initiatives with this framework and the IDP

  • Implementing standardised project management and reporting
methodology

  • Internal / external relationship building/ management
