ENERGY NRG 53/24 Senior Professional Officer

Requirements:

  • B.Eng / B.Sc / B-Tech degree in Electrical Engineering
(from an ECSA accredited institution)

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer/Technologist with
ECSA (within 3 years of appointment)

  • At least 5 years post qualification relevant protection experience
  • Experience in the testing of protective devices
  • Management and communication experience
  • Financial analysis and competent on SAP
  • A high degree of computer literacy
  • Drivers licence Code B
Key Performance Areas

  • Maintenance of protection and control systems including
Ensuring that the correct testing methods and techniques

that are utilized and Keeping accurate records of field test

results on a protection database program, and ensuring that

test results are downloaded on a daily basis

  • Train and mentor undergraduates, junior Technicians and
Learner Technicians

  • Designs procedures and control systems to ensure effective
control of field service processes, including the commissioning

of new plant, Plant Maintenance and project management

  • Managing the commissioning and handing over of new
protection and control plant to distribution areas and the

HV branch

  • Implementation of procedures and systems associated with
document flow and correspondence such as compiles reports

after in-depth analysis, evaluation and investigation of complex

electrical protection infrastructure
