WATER AND SANITATION WS 09/24 Senior Professional Officer

Requirements:

  • A BEng or BSc in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience
  • Professionally Registered (Pr.
Eng) or able to provide

evidence of eligibility to register.

  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions and outside
of normal working hours when operationally needed.

  • Willingness to conduct physical inspections of bulk water
infrastructure.

  • A Valid code EB Driver's license.
Key Performance Areas

  • Provides specialist technical and advisory support within
the Operations Section of the Bulk Water Branch on

Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

  • Assists with the management of multidisciplinary project
teams for investigation, design, project management,

contract administration, construction supervision,

commissioning and hand-over of future infrastructure,

upgrades of present infrastructure and operational

driven technical projects.

  • Preparation of specifications, contract administration,
commissioning of work and management of the

performance of contractors.

  • Identifies, defines and undertakes immediate, short
and long term planning associated with Bulkwater

infrastructure and New Water Programme and other

project implementation.

  • Providing technical support to schemes on various
operational challenges/breakdowns.

  • Prepares capital and operating estimates within a
planned project, and manages and controls expenditure

against the approved budget allocations.

  • Preparation of engineering designs, specifications and
drawings, and management of multidisciplinary project

teams.
