Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Operations Manager to join our team at Senwes Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating sales, stock, and customer care to maintain profitability and growth targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coach and guide sales clerks in product knowledge and selling skills to enhance customer satisfaction and sales performance.
  2. Identify client needs and provide personalized solutions to meet their requirements.
  3. Attend and resolve client queries in a timely and professional manner.
  4. Advise and inform clients on product ranges and offers to drive sales and revenue growth.
  5. Consult with suppliers and product managers to determine price and product offering to ensure competitiveness.
  6. Develop and implement sales forecasts and initiate orders to meet business objectives.
  7. Obtain promotional material to support sales and marketing initiatives.
  8. Implement effective merchandising strategies to maximize sales and revenue.
  9. Run promotions and provide support and advice during promotional periods.
  10. Perform stock forecasts and order stock to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  11. Ensure the correct receipt of stock according to procedures and policy to maintain inventory accuracy.
  12. Merchandise and price stock to maximize sales and revenue.
  13. Ensure continuous stock taking to maintain accurate inventory levels.
  14. Maintain loss control procedures and principles to minimize losses.
  15. Analyze redundant stock reports and implement corrective measures to optimize inventory levels.
  16. Liaise with suppliers regarding volumes, delivery terms, and conditions to ensure smooth operations.
  17. Ensure control of expiry dates on stock to minimize waste and losses.
  18. Ensure that pesticide register is maintained to comply with regulatory requirements.
  19. Manage staff according to applicable legislation to ensure compliance.
  20. Inform staff about desired outcomes in terms of goals and objectives to drive performance.
  21. Observe performance and provide constructive feedback regularly to support staff development.
  22. Develop staff to full potential to enhance team performance and productivity.
  23. Identify potential for accelerated development and support candidates during the development process.
  24. Adhere to responsibilities according to the Health and Safety Act to ensure a safe working environment.
  25. Monitor expenditure and report on variances to ensure financial control.
  26. Implement corrective measures to address any financial discrepancies.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • 3-5 years related experience in a retail environment
