Job Title: External Sales Representative
Company: A level 2 B-BBEE commercial and industrial pump company with a nationwide distribution network.
Location: Cape Town
Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven External Sales Representative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for selling, distributing, and servicing pumps, motors, gearboxes, and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Business Development: Proactively seek out new business opportunities in the pump, motor, and valve industry.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met with superior products and exceptional after-sales service.
- Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling sales presentations to existing and potential customers, highlighting the advantages of our products and services.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Track and forecast sales on a monthly and quarterly basis, reporting to the Sales Manager.
- Achieving Sales Targets: Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales goals and contribute to the overall growth of the company.
- Problem Solving & Customer Support: Resolve customer complaints efficiently, ensuring customer satisfaction, and provide solutions for equipment issues in collaboration with the technical team.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Sales Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in pumps, motors, gearboxes, or related equipment.
- Proven Record: Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and forecast sales projections over a 3-month period.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with pumps and related equipment is preferable, along with experience selling new units, parts, and repair services.
- Communication & Presentation Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deliver effective presentations to various stakeholders.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), with basic tablet and CRM skills.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build relationships and work effectively with customers, peers, and managers.
