We are seeking a highly skilled New Business Development Director to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. This exciting new position will be responsible for driving the growth and development of our hotel brands in Southern Africa, with a focus on South Africa.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Head of Development – MEA to identify and pursue new business opportunities, including cold calling, sourcing, and screening potential projects. They will also be responsible for preparing contracts and obtaining internal approval, as well as building relationships with new and existing owners and franchisees to grow our portfolio across the region.
This role will require frequent contact with various teams, including Development, Franchise Sales, Legal, Contracts Administration, Central Operations, NHOP, AD&C, Feasibility, Finance, and Commercial.
Key Responsibilities- Lead qualification and processing
- Providing standard key commercial terms for all projects
- Closing transactions
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, or Hospitality
- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in property advisory or similar would be an advantage
- Previous experience in a corporate environment, particularly in the preparation and negotiation of managed or franchised contracts
- Experience in the negotiation or brokerage of franchising, hotel management contracts, real estate development, and/or the hospitality sector would be beneficial
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, with additional language capabilities a plus
- Computer literacy and experience in using Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management tools
