Media Sales Key Account Manager

We are seeking a seasoned media sales professional to join our team at Dentsu in Cape Town, South Africa.
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven individual to drive revenue growth through strategic sales and client relationship management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to achieve monthly targets, managing existing client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive new print & digital advertising sales to meet or exceed monthly targets;
- Manage client direct and agency relationships to ensure strong partnerships and loyalty;
- Activate new customers through strategic selling and effective communication;
- Compile and present compelling ad sales proposals to clients and agencies;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop innovative sales strategies and solutions;
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process, from prospecting to proposal, briefing, asset collection, approvals, after-sales service, and reporting;
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, best practices, and competitor activity to stay ahead of the competition;
- Achieve accurate revenue forecasting and tracking to inform business decisions.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in advertising sales, preferably in a similar environment;
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth;
- Strong knowledge of the print & digital advertising landscape and ability to navigate it effectively;
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders;
- Able to compile unique PowerPoint presentations per client and articulate value propositions clearly;
- Relationship building skills to establish trust and credibility with clients and colleagues;
- Good numerical abilities to craft packages based on rate cards and hard costs;
- Adaptability, innovation, and pro-activity to stay ahead of the competition and drive business growth;
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines consistently;
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all aspects of the job.
- A relevant sales/marketing qualification, such as a diploma or degree in marketing, communications, or a related field;
- Existing list of client and agency relationships, ideally with a proven track record of success;
- Retail network advertising sales experience is advantageous but not essential.
Dentsu offers a competitive salary range of R600,000 - R900,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus additional benefits, including health insurance, retirement fund contributions, and generous paid time off.
