Pharmacy Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible pharmacy assistant to join our team at Prudent HR Solutions. In this role, you will assist the pharmacist in various clerical duties, including processing prescriptions, restocking shelves, tracking inventory, and answering phones.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process prescriptions and assist the pharmacist in dispensing medication
  • Greet customers and provide basic information about medications and interactions
  • Be familiar with stocked medications and assist in organizing and shelving
  • Input customer and prescription information into the computer system
  • Print and label prescriptions, and assist in gathering and delivering to customers
  • Answer phones in a professional manner and take messages
  • Track inventory and restock shelves as needed
  • Perform various administrative duties, including filing, copying forms, and till counting
  • Manage cash register and complete transactions
  • Report any major issues to the head pharmacist
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • National Senior Certificate
  • Must be qualified as per the SAPC requirements
  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy or service-related job preferred
  • Knowledge of over-the-counter medicines and common prescriptions
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience using POS systems
  • Computer literate and proficient typist
  • Ability to support the company's vision and values
  • Retail experience essential
  • Propharm Software knowledge required
