About the Role

The Adopt-a-School Foundation is seeking an experienced Strategic Fundraising Lead to develop and implement sustainable fundraising strategies that align with our long-term objectives.

This role will oversee the Fundraising, Campaigns and Events portfolio, ensuring maximised revenue generation and funder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive fundraising strategy, driving revenue growth and fostering strong partnerships.
  • Lead business planning and budgeting for the Fundraising department, focusing on efficient resource allocation.
  • Oversight of stakeholder management, ensuring seamless engagement and relationship building.
  • Set and monitor fundraising targets, guaranteeing financial sustainability.
  • IDentify and attract local and international donors, leveraging their support for our mission.
  • Oversee and manage fundraising events and networking opportunities, enhancing our profile and credibility.
  • IDentify and implement fundraising opportunities, including sponsorships and resource mobilisation.
  • Collaborate with the Board to enhance their participation in fundraising initiatives.
  • Finalise and approve proposals prepared by the Fundraising Manager, presenting them to potential and current funders.
  • Manage funder relationships before, during, and after receipt of funds, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Raise the Foundation's profile through targeted networking and new introductions.
  • Create and deliver a compelling fundraising plan to increase donations and sponsorships.
  • Work closely with the Fundraising Manager and Campaigns and Events Manager to develop innovative fundraising ideas.
  • Manage events and campaigns to raise funds, driving engagement and support.
  • Build relationships with existing funders and explore new opportunities through networks and enquiries.
  • Act as a liaison between the funder and the Foundation, facilitating effective communication.
  • Oversight of fundraising campaign execution and donor engagement initiatives.

Stakeholder Management and Engagement

  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships, driving mutual value and growth.
  • Implement the Foundation's Stakeholder engagement framework, ensuring seamless interaction.
  • Develop and execute donor engagement plans to enhance retention and loyalty.
  • Represent the Foundation at key networking events, presentations, and meetings.
  • BUILD a network of funders through proactive contact and relationship building.
  • Liaise and collaborate with partner entities, influencing and shaping our shared goals.
  • Prepare reports on stakeholder management effectiveness, informing future strategies.
  • Manage stakeholder deliverables for the Fundraising department.

Talent Management and Development

  • Manage team performance, conducting regular reviews and providing constructive feedback.
  • Offer technical guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure team growth and success.
  • Support employee development and career advancement, aligning with the Foundation's values.
  • Develop succession plans for critical roles, ensuring continuity and expertise.
  • Promote the Foundation's values, embedding them throughout our culture.

Reporting

  • Provide regular updates on fundraising performance, risks, and financial sustainability to the CEO.
  • Evaluate the success of fundraising campaigns, including donor engagement, funds raised, and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain detailed records on donor retention, engagement strategies, and future fundraising opportunities.
  • Prepare and analyse reports, making recommendations and tracking progress for each fundraising activity.
