Job Purpose
The Western Cape Government is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bibliographic Data Curator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating the central database of bibliographic records, ensuring availability and retrievability by end-users.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the library information management system database.
- Catalogue and classify new library materials.
- Perform quality control checks on the database.
- Provide support with general office administration and respond to cataloguing queries.
Requirements
- A National Diploma/B-Degree in Library Science/Information Sciences or equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 1 year's experience in online cataloguing and classification.
