Position: Principal Metallurgist / Principal Consultant Location: Australia, Canada, South Africa, United Kingdom Role Overview: As a Principal Metallurgist / Principal Consultant, you will be a key member of AMCs industry leading Geometallurgical service offering. Our Geometallurgy team integrates geoscience, geotechnical, metallurgical and environmental information to develop Predictive Geometallurgical models using data science and machine learning. These 3D models are used as an input into problem-solving, value-driven mine planning and strategic optimization of processing, mining, environmental and tailings. They minimize technical and operational risk, delivering value-driven solutions for mining projects. You will use your core skills and operational experiences to identify, validate and curate metallurgical data sets suitable for the development of Predictive Geometallurgical models. Beyond Geometallurgy you will use your core skills in traditional and innovative ways to contributing to due diligence, feasibility studies, and the development of, and projects in AMCs 10x Predictive Diagnostic and Hill of Value Strategy Optimization services. Key Responsibilities: Identify and communicate project metallurgical processes to non-metallurgical team members. Undertake data quality assessment and analysis of metallurgical test work and process plant, incorporating test work meta data. Identify ways to select metallurgical datasets suitable for geometallurgical modelling. Contribute to the development of the machine learning based Predictive Geometallurgy service. Post graduate qualifications in a related discipline are desirable. 15 years experience in the mining industry, including research, laboratory, technical or operational roles. AusIMM or equivalent (SAIMM, CIM, SME, IOM) membership or eligibility to apply. Chartered Professional (CP), or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration and experience as Qualified Person (NI 43-101), or Competent Person (JORC or equivalent) would be advantageous.
