Absa Group is seeking an experienced professional to lead our Transactional Banking division. As the Head of Transactional Banking, you will be responsible for driving growth and profitability through innovative solutions that meet the needs of our commercial banking customers.

This role will play a pivotal part in forging the growth strategy and execution plan, collaborating with in-country colleagues, and establishing Absa as a preferred bank for Commercial and SME customers in our African markets.

About the Role

The incumbent will take end-to-end ownership of Transactional Banking (Cash Management, Trade & Working Capital, and FX) by delivering innovative solutions while adding value in all interactions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Influencing customer value propositions, client solutions, structuring, pricing, deal support, credit risk management, relationship management, product onboarding, impairments, and marketing.
  • Optimizing and developing teams through skills development on cash management, trade & working capital, leadership practices, and relationship management.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships across the bank to ensure maximum performance of Transactional Banking products.
  • Driving thought leadership across sectors, segments, and geographies.
