**Job Title**:Compensation, Benefits and Reporting Specialist
**JOB PURPOSE**
Barrick aims to provide rewards programs that are competitive with local market practice and that compensate employees at a level and in a manner that ensures Barrick is capable of attracting, motivating and retaining qualified individuals. The purpose of role is provide specialist support to the AME Region and to site HR and line management on compensation, benefits, job evaluation and general remuneration processes. The Role will also be responsible for the implementation and administration of the Compensation module in Element for the region.
The role will be based in the Johannesburg Office, and report directly into the Compensation, Benefits and HRIS Manager for AME. Travel to Barrick sites will be required.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Compensation and Benefits Support**
- Support the HR teams with compensation and benefits (C&B) requirements for recruitment, talent management and retention activities.
- Provide recommendations regarding job descriptions, salaries, and job grade/levels.
- Manage compensation projects for the regional office under direction of AME Compensation and Benefits Manager
- Participate in annual salary surveys
- Keep abreast with remuneration trends within the industry.
- Coordinates C&B processes like the salary budgets, bonus planning, new benefits introduction, etc
- Review job descriptions for various positions and determine appropriate base pay.
- Advise on salary increase requests.
- Forecast budget for salary increases
- Maintain regional benefits (life insurance, pension etc)
- Conduct periodic audits, prepare and present reports
- Review and sign off regional monthly payroll.
- Coordinate the annual budget process across AME
**Job Evaluation & Alignment to Barrick Group**
- Working with the regional Compensation and Benefits Manager, implement and manage job grading/classification for the region.
- Analyse job descriptions and conduct Job evaluations and classifications across the region
- Manage job evaluation committees across all sites.
- Review and sign off of Junior and senior employees job evaluations.
- Train HR, Line managers and employee representatives on the principles of job evaluation.
**Year-end Compensation Cycle & LTI Management**
- Work closely with the AME Compensation and Benefits Manager on planning and executing the annual compensation review process.
- Manage and maintain participant lists for STI/LTI for the regional office.
- Compile regional annual increase, STI and LTI budget schedule as part of the annual year end compensation process.
- Provide inputs, based on research, on proposals for annual increases, CPI data, market trends etc as part of the annual increase budgeting process.
- Update and maintain the annual increase and STI schedule.
- Generate compensation statements.
- Review vesting schedules
- Working with HR and Payroll, determine tax obligations depending on the LTI arrangement for the sites
- Complete all related LTI administration during the year
**Expatriate Compensation**
- Review and recommend expatriate compensation packages across the region.
- Conduct expatriate salary benchmarking as required
- Administer expatriate benefits across AME
- Update census data quarterly for benefits invoices
**Regional Office and Expatriate Payroll**
- Review the regional offices and expatriate payrolls on a monthly basis
**Regional Element (HCM) Support**
- Work with the Compensation and Benefits Manager on implementing the compensation module in Element.
- Manage the regional office leave module
- Coordinate cleanup efforts across AME for data requirements in Element.
- Maintaining the system, implementing (process) improvements, ensuring data quality, and analysing and reporting on the data in the Element.
- Coordinate annual compensation review process in Element
- Provide SME support for the Performance Management, leave and compensation module across AME.
**Job Requirements**
- Proven working experience as a compensation and benefits specialist
- Extensive knowledge of benefits and compensation programs, policies, procedures, and applicable legislation.
- Prior experience in HR practices and compensation cycle management
- Working knowledge of job evaluation systems
- Adequate knowledge of current labour rules and regulations
- Familiarity with various types of incentives and benefits
- Ability to collaborate, provide technical support, and train staff.
- Extensive experience in analyzing HRIS and HR metrics.
- Proficiency in HRM software
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- BS degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Finance
