Head of Leisure Sales

As the Head of Leisure Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive sales strategy that maximizes revenue from the leisure market across the group’s luxury properties. This role involves managing key client relationships, leading the leisure sales team, and collaborating with various departments to ensure exceptional service delivery. You will also play a critical role in business development by identifying new opportunities and expanding the client base in both local and international markets.
**Sales Strategy and Planning**:
Develop and implement a sales plan specifically tailored to the leisure market for all properties within the group.
Collaborate with the Director of Sales to create and manage the budget and forecast for the leisure segment.
Represent the group at trade exhibitions, workshops, and events locally and internationally to promote the properties.
**Client Relationship Management**:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and prospects in the leisure market.
Conduct face-to-face meetings with key decision-makers to understand their needs and secure bookings.
Expand the client base by identifying and engaging with new potential accounts both locally and internationally.
**Team Leadership and Development**:
Lead, mentor, and guide the leisure sales team, ensuring alignment with the overall sales strategy.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of the team, ensuring that sales targets and key performance indicators are met.
Provide ongoing support and training to team members to enhance their sales capabilities.
**Sales Administration**:
Maintain up-to-date client records, including detailed contact information and booking history, using Salesforce.
Ensure that all sales activities are properly documented and that reports are submitted on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Assist in planning and organizing FAM trips, site inspections, and other sales-related activities.
**Business Development**:
Research and analyze competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and strategies.
Work closely with other departments, such as Front Desk, Reservations, and Banqueting, to generate and follow up on sales leads.
Develop and implement strategies to penetrate new markets, with a particular focus on growing international leisure business.
**Performance and Assessment**:
Monitor sales volumes, key performance indicators, and overall results to ensure revenue targets are achieved or exceeded.
Maintain high standards of professionalism, including timekeeping and appearance, when representing the company.
Ensure that all sales expenses are managed in line with budgeted guidelines.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an international sales role within the hospitality industry, with a proven track record of managing a sales team.
Extensive experience in international trade with key contacts in the leisure market.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
Willingness to travel extensively, both locally and internationally.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public relations skills.
Strong sales, negotiation, and influencing abilities, with the capacity to close deals effectively.
Highly organized with an eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
A strong team player with the ability to work independently and motivate others.
A sales diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
