Regional Head of Business Development

**Synopsis**
We are pleased to announce a permanent strategic role for a **Regional Head of Business Development** to join a dynamic team in Bryanston. The purpose of this role is to generate new high-quality leads to increase glass collections who will supply glass-to-glass manufacturers and other parties; growing the current glass collections from existing suppliers; and achieving the mandatory glass collection volumes and targets as prescribed by the EPR regulations.
**Qualification and Experience**
- Matric / Grade 12 (Essential).
- A valid driver’s license is essential.
- Own vehicle is essential as travel is vital in this position.
- A tertiary / post matric qualification (Advantageous).
- Exposure/experience in the recycling industry.
- Strong sales experience and ability to develop strategic business requirements
- Must have managed a specific region.
**Roles and Responsibilities** Relationship Management**:
- Monthly visitations to monitor the performance of all entrepreneurs/buy-back centers established and report on the number of people employed, volumes generated, ROI (volumes versus-based investment), and asset verification.
- Field trips to all regions to source new entrepreneurs/buy-back centers to grow recoveries to achieve mandated collections as per EPR regulations; Development of existing cullet suppliers to grow their cullet recoveries.
- Constant engagement and collaboration with Municipalities monthly to increase glass collections and establish collection projects to grow recoveries, including implementation of separation at source projects.
- Ensure timeous delivery of assets and consumables to entrepreneurs; Identification of areas performing poorly and ensure corrective action.
- Carry out routine asset audits and verification within the specified timeframes; Monitor and track the servicing of glass banks
- Ensure glass bank is serviced within 24 hours from the date of the first service complaint; and
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with relevant NGOs, community-based organizations provincial and local government, and other interested parties and other PROs.
- Timeous submission of monthly reports as required by the company; Achieve collected tonnages as per the mandatory EPR regulations.
- Co-ordinate the efficient placement and transportation of glass banks.
- Provide optimum infrastructure and consumable support for the collection of cullet.
- Submit monthly variance reports on actual| versus budgeted cullet recoveries for the region per supplier and motivating reasons for variances observed.
- Compile information on local trends in terms of cullet recoveries and availability of potential volumes per region.
- Maintain records for all enquiries received.
- Ensure loan agreements and acknowledgment of receipt of assets and consumables, by entrepreneurs and site owners, are submitted to the Business Development Manager timeously, within the directed turnaround time.
- Maintain a register of all consumables (e.g. bulk bags and wheely bins) and assets (primarily glass banks and skips bins) distributed and in stock.
- Monitor performance of glass banks and entrepreneurs to ensure adequate recovery of cullet.
- Recommendation about the relocation of poor performing glass banks and skip bins and proposal of removal of assets from poor performing entrepreneurs.
- Ensure all business is conducted by the Companies and Competitions Acts and all other relevant Regulations.
- Report monthly on the performance of all glass banks.
**Lead generation**:
- Monitoring and assessing glass collection volumes and market data for a specific geographic region that will assist management in identifying areas in the market where business can be developed (to be incorporated in the monthly report).
- Establishment & implementation of buy-back centers and the ongoing development of these businesses to meet collection targets.
- Establish additional sources of cullet supply through engagement with shopping malls, HORECA (hospitality industry), and other commercial establishments, to grow glass collections.
- Determining the validity of applicants requesting investment based on established criteria.
- Establish and update the database of glass recycling performance regionally.
