Holler Trade CC was established in 1990 as an export trading house offering sourcing, procurement and logistics into Africa. Our head office is in Midrand, Johannesburg, South Africa. We have offices in Lusaka, Zambia and representation in Botswana and Zimbabwe. We have been trading with other countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Nigeria, Malawi, Uganda, Ethiopia, DRC, Namibia and Ghana.
Having been in business for the past 30 years we pride ourselves in the service we provide and have well established relationships with major South African and global suppliers that are vital to the success of projects in remote locations.
**Job Description**:
We are looking for a skilled Accounts Clerk to perform a variety of bookkeeping tasks.
The Accounts Clerk's responsibilities include keeping accounting records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. We are currently working with Epic ERP and Pastel accounting software programs to process business transactions (accounts payable and receivable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts). A successful accounting assistant should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers.
Ultimately, a successful Accounting Clerk will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
- Type accurately, prepare and maintain accounting documents and records
- General ledger postings and statements
- Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
- Daily enter key data of financial transactions in database
- Provide assistance and support to company personnel
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
- Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas as required
- Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
- Constantly update job knowledge
**Qualifications**:
- Matric with Maths
- Relevant diploma or degree would be a plus
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or Accounts Payable Clerk
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office, databases and accounting software
- Hands on experience with Excel spreadsheets and financial reports
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
- Data entry and work processing skills
- Well organised
- Must have own reliable vehicle with valid drivers licence
- Must be a South African citizen
- Non-smoker with English as primary language
- Must be resident within the Centurion, Midrand areas
Additional Information
1 Year Limited Duration Contract.
Salary - entry level, to be discussed at interview.
Working Hours:
Mondays to Thursday from 08H00 to 17H00
Fridays from 07H00 to 16H00
