Proposal Coordinator - Midrand, Gauteng - Job ID 3707

**Proposal Coordinator** needed for the marketing department to ensure on-time management of the proposal process from receipt of enquiry to issuing of proposal document relating to pumpcell plants, interstage screens, agitators, carbon regeneration kilns, electrowinning cells, spares and conversions.

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Reports to: Director of Marketing Department
Primary Purpose: The primary function of this role is the on-time management of the proposal process from receipt of enquiry to issuing of proposal document relating to pump cell plants, interstage screens, agitators, carbon regeneration kilns, electrowinning cells, spares and conversions. The collation of the required information sourced from the engineering, financial and marketing departments, will be the Proposal Coordinators key result area.

Job description / core competencies:
The Proposal Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that proposals are of a high standard and that areas such as grammar, spelling, quality and aesthetic appearance are of a high quality.

The Proposal Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that proposal documents submitted comply to all the specific Proposal and legal requirements.

Upon order receipt the Proposal Coordinator will be required to review the contract and identify clauses that do not correlate with the submitted proposal document.

An existing information flow and pricing database system is operational.

The Proposal Coordinator will be responsible for the maintenance, management and improvement of this system with particular focus on improving the feedback and formalization of market intelligence.

The Proposal Coordinator will have to provide monthly feedback on proposal submissions and the status of the respective projects.

All unsuccessful proposals will have to be evaluated to establish reasoning for them not having been successful.

The Proposal Coordinator will be responsible for the updating and evaluation of equipment pricing trends.

The key result areas of the Proposal Coordinator position are as follows:
Interaction with all sectors within the organisation.

Achievement of proposal submission deadlines.

Accuracy of information contained within all distributed documentation.

Quality of distributed documentation.

**Location**: Midrand, Gauteng

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
A formal tertiary qualification would be preferable but not essential.

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Diploma will be considered.

A minimum of 5 years’ work experience is required, preferably with previous exposure to the proposal process.

An advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential.

It is essential to possess good interpersonal and management skills as interaction with all operating sections within the company is essential.

Will be required to be a self-motivated / self-starter as this role is not discreetly overseen.

Will be required to have a technical aptitude, preferably in the mining or engineering industries.

Will be required to understand and identify commercial and contractual risks associated with the compilation of proposal documents.

Will be required to possess good time management skills as the meeting of deadlines is an imperative key result area.

Will be required to gain knowledge about the global market.

Will be required to have a valid driver’s license and own transport.
