Requirements:

  • BTech or Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management qualification
(advantageous).

  • Management / Project Management is essential
  • Portfolio and Programme Management is advantageous
  • Implementation of Project Systems (SAP, SAP PPM) is
advantageous

  • 8 years relevant experience
  • Senior Management level experience / exposure essential
  • A valid driver's licence and the ability to travel


 Computer Literacy
  • MS Office Applications (MS Projects etc.)
Key Performance Areas

  • Managing the project management strategy of the Informal
Settlements Basic Services Project Management Unit (PMU)

  • Coordinate the City's response to and activities within informal
settlements, especially as they relate to community engagement

and service delivery.

  • Drives experimentation with context appropriate alternative
sanitations technologies and business models that support the

overarching vision of the City.

  • Drives the process of institutionalising appropriate solutions and
replicate/ scale accordingly.

  • Oversee the development, piloting and scaling of new
approaches to in-situ upgrading of water and sanitation in

informal settlements

  • Corporative governance activities; Providing input into corporate
activities

  • Leading and directing high level interaction with internal and
external stakeholders

  • Leading and directing the activities associated with high level input
into programme and project planning

  • Leading and directing the monitoring of the implementation of
projects across various Directorates within the City in a transversal

model

  • Providing Programme and project integration management,
project scope, time and cost management, alongside the

programme and project managers within the PMU
