WS 51/23 Head

Requirements:

  • BTech or degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Professional registration will serve as an advantage
  • At least eight (8) years' appropriate experience, involving
sound working knowledge of relevant legislation, policy

and procedures, at managerial level

  • Mechanical or electrical knowledge
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and think independently; provide strategic direction;
and effectively and efficiently organise, analyse, set goals,

administer, guide, integrate and implement systems, plans,

standards and procedures

  • Proficiency and competency in MS Excel, MS Word,
MS PowerPoint and SharePoint

  • A valid driver's licence with own reliable transport.
Key Performance Areas

  • Coordinate the implementation of the capital and operating
budget of the pump stations section by effecting good

financial controls and expenditure in terms of the

Municipal Finance Act

  • Manage the human resources in the pump station section in
order to enhance staff performance, develop skills and ensure

optimum service delivery

  • Manage an operational quality management system by
maintaining a quality service

  • Manage reticulation water and wastewater pump stations
and conveyance operations by ensuring the maintenance

and operations are carried out in the most efficient and

cost-effective manner

  • Manage the performance of all operational functions by
measuring and improving performance

  • Manage the implementation of standard operating procedures
by standardising operating systems and processes for

equitable service delivery

  • Manage effective communications by enhancing awareness,
share knowledge, expose conditions and promote service delivery

  • Manage response to technical enquiries by processing technical
enquiries efficiently.
