Right now we are recruiting a go-getter, risk-taker Sales Person/Manager with engineering background in the mining industry (preferably screening) to join our team.

As the Assistant to the Sales Manager and company CEO you will promote and sell the organizations products and services to our customers, lead/guide/motivate the internal/external sales teams and acquire/develop new business.


Key Responsibilities:

Must be able to promote and sell the organizations products and services by means of calls, visits and presentations to achieve sales targetsMust be able to pursue sales leads, visit existing and new customers, assess customer needs and advices on appropriate Screenex products and services, respond to customer enquiries, negotiates prices and delivery times and conclude sales ordersMust be able to assist key maintenance, engineering and production personnel of the customer at production/operational level advising on screen media adjustments/changes to raise efficiency and ease of operationIdentifies, researches and contacts prospective customers and builds positive relationships generating future sales and repeat businessMust be able to take charge of the organizations internal and external sales teamsMust be able to transfer his/her own experience and knowledge gained in the industry and his/her own training in engineering to lead, guide and motivate the internal and external sales teams of the organisationMust be able to direct the internal and external sales teams in its weekly planning by identifying priority activityAssists the internal and external sales teams with clear instructions for effective preparation of quotations as required in the organizations manuals and policiesCollects and refers customer feedback and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organizationEstablishes annual, quarterly, monthly and weekly sales plans and prioritises and schedules own activities ensuring sales targets are metKeeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with Operational ManagersParticipates in trade shows and conventions as and when requiredResponsible for cross-functional operations, ensuring all tasks are completed according to sales and marketing strategiesPrepare/assist in preparation of Tenders/Contracts and manage initial design for plant and equipment within approved proceduresExecute all functions in line with the applicable delegation of authorityInvestigate customer complaints and recommend adjustments to product/serviceTo be fully aware of and comply with current responsibilities and requirements of the relevant OHS Acts, Regulations and applicable Health and Safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe workplace.

Report all hazards, incidents and injuries in accordance with legislation and company reporting procedures;Ensure that the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is worn when required.

Ideally, we are looking for candidates who have the following skills and attributes:


National Senior Certificate or EquivalentValid drivers license with own transport5+ years work experience in Screening/mining environmentProven sound technical and engineering background and knowledgeProven sound metallurgical knowledgeProven record of achievement of budgets and targetsProven ability to prepare accurate quotations and written reportsTender preparation experienceMust be able to travel locally for operational requirementsProficiency with MS Office applications e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointEffective interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with clients.

Must be a team player with the ability to develop sound relationships within the company and the customer base
