Job Summary


As a Technical Sales Representative specialising in the shelving and racking industry, you will be responsible for driving sales growth by identifying, prospecting and cultivating new business opportunities while maintaining and nurturing existing client relationships.

You will serve as a knowledgeable and trusted advisor to clients, offering expert guidance on their product offerings, design solutions and installation services.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and lead generation activities.
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of potential clients through networking, cold calling and attending industry events.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand market share.

Consultative Selling

  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to understand clients' shelving and racking requirements, space constraints and budgetary considerations.
  • Recommend appropriate product solutions and configurations based on client specifications and project parameters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including design engineers and project managers, to develop customised solutions that meet client needs.

Relationship Management

  • Cultivate strong, longlasting relationships with key decisionmakers, influencers and stakeholders within client organisations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
  • Conduct regular followups with clients to assess satisfaction levels, identify upselling opportunities and secure repeat business.

Technical Expertise

  • Develop a deep understanding of our shelving and racking product lines, including features, benefits, and technical specifications.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging technologies to effectively position their products in the marketplace.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to clients, including product demonstrations, site surveys and installation oversight as needed.

Sales Administration

  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals and quotations tailored to the specific needs of each client.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of sales activities, customer interactions and opportunities using CRM software.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate order fulfillment, logistics and postsale support services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in technical sales, preferably within the shelving and racking industry or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, techniques and methodologies with exceptional negotiation and closing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse clientele, from small businesses to large enterprises.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend trade shows and participate in industry events.

R35 000,00 - R45 000,00 per month
