Our client in the hospitality industry based in Airport Industria is in need of a resourceful Senior Sales Executive.

1.
Sales database and administration


1.1 Compile Hotel database for all markets and as custodian of the database, continuously update and manage the contacts and client lists.

1.2 Develop and maintain a client matrix - CEO, procurement, travel agents, divisions and booking habits, trends and rates.


1.3 Attend regular meetings with CRE and General Manager to remain informed of new and fresh marketing ideas and drive efforts accordingly.


1.4 Compile required sales reports and statistics linked to the acquiring and production of business and submit and present to owners and Verde Hotels.


1.5 Regularly compile market research and ideas on hotel development and growth with regards to the current markets and client needs.

1.6 Ensure all corporate signed agreements are accurately maintained and all processes followed on the administrative side.


1.7 Create together with the Verde team detailed proposal documents, to be used as part of a formal tender process that is largely dictated by the prospective client.

1.8 Regularly review own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets according to the incentive scheme set out.

Operational
2.1 Maintain a thorough knowledge of the room locations, types of rooms, package plans and all hotel facilities.

2.2 Conduct regular walk about and site inspections to familiarize with current hotel operational standards. Report any concerns to the General Manager.

2.3 Be available to assist with site inspections for potential clients.

3.
Client and employee relationships
3.1 Responsible for the acquisition and maintenance of all corporate/travel trade/leisure/government/niche/mice/international clients of the hotel


3.2 Listen to clients' requirements and present appropriately to make a sale, negotiate the terms of an agreement and closing the sale.

3.4 Regularly attend/host events where top clients and new clients are entertained.

3.5 Dissatisfied Clients are acknowledged immediately and attended to without delay. Notify the General Manager of any complaints that were received and assist with how they can be solved.


3.6 Ensure good relationships are kept with colleagues and superiors at all times and report any personal differences that may threaten the cohesion of the team and colleagues to the General Manager.


3.7 Recognizes and corrects conditions which may create security, fire or accident hazards and continuously drives initiatives to enforce a safe and healthy working environment by continuously training and coaching employees.

3.8 Deal with all people in a manner that maintains goodwill, respect and avoid offence and conflict. Comply with instructions from Management constructively and timeously.

4.
Environmental and Social Responsibility
4.1 Work closely with the hotel in participating where possible in community based projects.

4.2 Maintain awareness of new initiatives and the continuously growing social economic programme of the hotel.


4.3 Assist with power and electricity usage by not having lights or any electrical appliance on that could be switched off when not in use.


4.4 Participate and actively control all forms of waste and ensure accurate recycling of all glass, papers, plastics, aluminum and steel form all areas to waste.

4.5 Actively participate in all social development drives with local communities and initiatives.

4.6 Actively participate in the food & beverage waste program of the Hotel.

4.7 Reduce the use of paper by not printing unnecessarily and recycle used paper.

5.
General and other Duties
5.2 The position requires the employee to perform tasks as requested by senior management from time to time. Respond to any reasonable tasks as assigned by General Manager


5.3 Be committed to the safety of Guests at all times and report any suspicious activity in the hotel to the Manager.

5.4 Practice Safety at all times including constant awareness of safety hazard.

5.5 Reports to work on time and according to sales schedule, and at no times abusing use of time.


5.6 Agree to continuously improve and develop his/her self, by attending scheduled training courses as directed by Management and being committed to making the absolute most of the given opportunity.


5.7 Be committed to the highest level of service to the Hotel Guests, Clients, courtesy to fellow colleagues and a commitment to all environmental social and developmental training initiatives.


Requirements:

  • Grade 12, tertiary diploma in Sales & Marketing / PR and/or Hotel Management or proven track record of having received on-job training
  • Competent in operating a computer and entering data, skilled in letter writing and communicating effectively. Highly organized and approachable on all levels.3
