Our client has a remarkable reputation for consistency and excellence in their service delivery on a multi-industry scale, both in South Africa and across the African continent, and they are looking to hire a qualified Fitter and Turner as an Internal Sales Support in their Electromechanical division.

**Position details**:
Type: Permanent
Reports to: Business Unit Manager - Electromechanical

Job description / core competencies:

- Fair understanding of the electro-mechanical business; electric motors, geared motors, and industrial gear units.
- Understanding of geared motor selection to suit customer requirements is critical.
- Working with the Repairs Specialist in carrying out the strategic functions of the repairs portfolio of the division.
- Gearbox component selection and integration to suit the scope of repair work before compiling quotations.
- Provision of service advice relating to the scope of repair work on gearboxes that are sent to the division.
- Effective use of the Engineering Enquiry System for quotations, order processing and purchase processing.

Key Performance Indicators:

- Customer, branch and divisional repair expertise and service delivery covering mechanical drive products.
- Effective evaluation of stripped-down gearboxes, identification of damaged gearbox components and possible causes of failure.
- Achieving target response times for the preparation and submission of commercial quotations.
- Escalating gear product failure mode analysis and reporting to a level of professionalism which benefits the long-term reputation of the company.
- Liaise with customers and company branches on progress of strip and quotation jobs, orders, and work-in-progress of the repair jobs.
- Maintain gearbox repair sales for the benefit of the company.

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric). Fitter and Turner qualification.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in gearbox assembly.

**Skills**:

- Previous sales and/or workshop experience would be an advantage.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be computer literate.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- Timely, well-organized and deadline-driven.
- Must have good commercial knowledge.
