**Overview of the Job**:
Key Characteristics**:

- +105 owned and leased properties supporting the ADvTECH Schools and Tertiary Education, and Resourcing Divisions.
- +R60 million rand per annum incurred cost to be managed for repairs and maintenance to facilities.
- +- R40 million per annum on minor CAPEX implementation projects.
- +160 facility services and management people resources including area management, campus management and task-based staff.
- Diverse client stakeholder management including Principals, Business Managers, Financial Managers, and Executives.
- Varied maturity levels requiring differentiated management to bring all to consistent standard and maturity.
**Key Objectives**:

- Maintain the property asset portfolio to assure the following:

- compliance with governing laws.
- compliance with insurance, warranties and lease terms.
- economic and functional benefits is realised over its lifecycle.
- Develop a long term repairs and maintenance strategy for both owned and leased properties.
- Establish a coordinated budgeting and financial reporting process between Brands and Properties for the execution of the function.
- Roll out minor CAPEX projects associated with the R&M of facilities.
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop, implement and continually refine related strategy and policy that is in alignment with Group and Brand strategies and strategic objectives.
- Develop, implement and continually refine preventative maintenance plans that is considered appropriate for the nature of built-environment, its condition and use, and operations and strategic factors.
- Roll out minor CAPEX projects associated with the R&M of facilities.
- Management of teams (office and site teams).
- Stakeholder management (Exco, Brand MD’s, Principals etc.).
- Management accounts and budget management.
**Educational Requirements**:
**Minimum**:

- Tertiary qualification in built-environment disciplines of architecture, engineering, project management, quantity surveying, maintenance or construction management
- Bachelors Degree.
**Ideal**:

- Post-graduate qualification in built-environment disciplines of architecture, engineering, project management, quantity surveying, maintenance or construction management and/or facilities management.
- MBA or Masters Degree equivalent.
**Experience Required**:

- 5 years - Management of built-environment technical/engineering aspects associated with maintenance and utilities management, and including all disciplines of mechanical, electrical, civil and structural services.
- 2 years - Built-environment construction project management.
- 2 years - Managing and functioning in a matrix organisation.
