Commercial Sales and Business Development Representative

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Sales Representative to join our team at Deka Minas (Pty) Ltd, a leading holding company of innovative financial institutions in South Africa.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, sales, and relationship management, with a focus on cultivating client relationships and identifying new market opportunities for Business Insurance products.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Business Development:
  2. Monitor and assess sales and market data for a specific geographic region and market segment;
  3. Produce reports to assist management in formulating strategy and identifying areas for business development.
  4. Customer Relationship Development / Prospecting:
  5. Develop and implement relationship management plans for complex potential customer accounts;
  6. Identify and build relationships with relevant decision-makers and influencers within the customer organization.
  7. Customer Needs Clarification:
  8. Set clear objectives for each sales call;
  9. Develop and make presentations tailored to the known interests, needs, issues, and concerns of decision-makers and influencers.
  10. Sell Customer Propositions:
  11. Use personal expertise to identify complex standard products and services that meet customer needs;
  12. Present these to the customer with a clear rationale and at standard commercial terms.
  13. Sales Opportunities Creation:
  14. Develop a personal network within the business sector;
  15. Represent the organization at business sector events;
  16. Obtain market intelligence and enhance the visibility and reputation of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Matric/SAQA Accredited Equivalent (Essential);
  • Full FAIS accreditation (150 credits) (Essential);
  • RE 5 (Essential);
  • RE 1 (Advantageous);
  • 3-6 years industry and commercial experience.
