We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cargo Sales Agent to join our team in Johannesburg, South Africa. As a key member of our cargo sales team, you will be responsible for generating maximum cargo revenue in the assigned station through effective sales strategies and promotion.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with freight forwarders, direct shippers, and/or consignees via telephone to provide cargo operations and customer service functions.
  • Liaising with local Ground Handling Agents and the Head Office Cargo Department to ensure a high-quality service is provided by QR both import and export.
  • Supporting import customers for clearance of their cargo, liaising with customs authorities to facilitate smooth and timely import clearance, and coordinating with customers/cargo claims supervisor at head office.
  • Planning flights with maximum utilization of flight capacity, controlling and operating export and import, and coordinating with customers/cargo claims supervisor at head office.
  • Ensuring that notifications are sent officially on cargo arrival information to freight forwarders/agents/direct customers to avoid damages and for space availability at the warehouse.
  • Ensuring full awareness of work health and safety requirements and expectations to minimize health and safety risks for self and colleagues.
  • Preparing weekly, monthly, or whenever deemed necessary services reports, including system accounting updates on every flight departure.

As a Cargo Sales Agent, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the success of our cargo sales operations. Requirements:

  • Relevant vocational, tertiary, or trade qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

  • IATA/TACT Regulations knowledge.
  • Knowledge in cargo sales.
  • Excellent customer focus and service delivery.
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong team orientation.
