We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager to join our team at Leroy Merlin. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of Customer Assistants, contributing to customer satisfaction and the overall results of the department.

Main Responsibilities

* Lead and support a team of Customer Assistants to achieve sales and customer service targets.
* Develop and implement business action plans to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction.
* Manage daily sales and customer relations, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
* Develop and update own skills and knowledge to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
* Assume leadership role on behalf of the HOD when the HOD is not available.
* Participate in teamwork to ensure quality service and productivity of the store.

Requirements

* Minimum Matric or NQF4 Equivalent.
* Relevant tertiary qualification will be an added advantage.
* Previous retail experience at a junior management level.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
* A team builder and a team player, with the ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve sales and customer service targets.
* Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to provide a high level of customer satisfaction.
* Self-confident, hardworking, and leads by example.
* Customer-centric, with a focus on delivering excellent customer service and satisfaction.
* Sense of responsibility, with the ability to take ownership of tasks and projects.
* Analytical, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
* Assertive and challenge status quo, with the ability to think critically and outside the box.
