Based on this principle, Siemens has developed a holistic architecture concept to support customers in implementing digital solutions, with a strong focus on eliminating data silos and increasing collaboration across different departments such as engineering, operations, planning, and maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  1. Technical support functions – You will be a point of contact for customers and respond to technical support requests on IT Infrastructure hosting grid control, smart metering applications (IT Hardware, Compute, Storage, Switches), Virtualization Software (V-Centre/VMWare technologies), OS (Windows, Linux), Databases (ORACLE, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  2. Custom Software Development – You will be responsible for assisting the functional project teams in developing custom software or scripts to automate various functions in Grid Control or Smart metering applications (Unix, SQL scripting, Custom JAVA/C# applications).
  3. Project requirements gathering – You will participate in project requirements gathering workshops pre-deployment of IT Infrastructure to host Smart Metering and grid control applications.
  4. Documentation functions – You will be responsible for developing and documenting technical support procedures for internal use and for customers, training material, project technical specification based on requirements gathering exercises.
  5. Smart metering and Grid control application Datacentre configuration – You will work closely with Solution Architects, IT Hardware vendors, and DBA in configuring smart metering and grid control datacentres to suit customer requirements based on developed Project Technical Specifications (PFS).
  6. Datacentre infrastructure testing – You will be required to develop test procedures for doing Unit Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, Performance Testing, etc. You will be required to perform the tests both internally and before customers.
Qualification and Experience:
  1. Qualifications: B.Sc. Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Science (must have taken Networking/Data Communications and Software Engineering/Development courses).
  2. Knowledge and experience in at least one core programming language (e.g., C++, JAVA, or C#).
  3. Knowledge and experience with Software Engineering/Development concepts (Lifecycle).
  4. Knowledge and experience in Databases (ORACLE or MySQL) including SQL scripting is advantageous.
  5. Knowledge and experience with Unix based Operating Systems (Linux) including Shell/Bash is advantageous.
