Payroll Administration and Financial Reconciliation Manager

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Payroll Administration and Financial Reconciliation Manager to join our Human Resources team in Johannesburg, South Africa. This role will focus on ensuring accurate and timely payroll administration for our employees.
Job Description
This role involves ensuring accurate payroll processing, maintaining data integrity, resolving complex issues, supporting compliance and accuracy, providing exceptional customer support, collaborating on financial reconciliation, participating in continuous improvement, and acting as a knowledge resource.
Responsibilities
- Payroll Administration: Prepare, process, and balance payroll for complex groups to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
- Data Integrity: Ensure data from interfaces and manual sources is uploaded without errors, maintaining the integrity of payroll information.
- Complex Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot and resolve complex payroll issues with helpdesk experts to minimize disruptions.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure accurate calculation of taxes and deductions, and compliance with internal policies and legislation.
- Customer Support: Offer support to large sites or multiple locations, including handling off-cycle or replacement payments.
- Financial Reconciliation: Work with Payroll Accounting to clear and reconcile items, contributing to accurate financial reporting and accountability.
- Process Improvement: Engage in continuous improvement projects and maintain payroll process documentation to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
- Knowledge Sharing: Serve as an internal and external resource on payroll system inquiries and act as an informal mentor to less experienced colleagues.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience: Over 5 years in payroll processes, tax legislation, and compliance.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in payroll element testing, tax audits, and managing multiple year-end cycles.
- Communication: Effective team player, collaborating with benefits teams, management, and stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures data accuracy, payroll reconciliation, and timely GL file submissions.
